Southern Village Whole Home Renovation

For this whole-home remodel in Southern Village, the clients envisioned a home built for gatherings. We opened the kitchen, added a large island, ran cabinetry to the ceiling, and introduced handmade Moroccan tile with mixed-metal accents. A former flex space became a true office, suites were refreshed, and the third floor was finished for bonus living.

Kitchen & Dining
We completely opened up the kitchen by removing a tall dividing bar and replacing it with an expansive island designed for entertaining. Custom cabinets now extend to the ceiling in a mix of Sahara and sand tones, paired with handmade Moroccan tile for texture and depth. The design also incorporates mixed metals—from champagne bronze to brushed nickel—offering a refined yet eclectic balance.

Living Spaces
The dining room is anchored by a traditional chandelier, while the adjacent living room flows seamlessly into a versatile flex space. By enclosing the staircase opening, we created a private library or office that can adapt to the homeowners’ needs.

Primary Suite & Bathroom
The primary suite was reimagined as a calming retreat with serene blue walls, expansive picture windows, and a modern ceiling fan accented in white oak and brass. In the bathroom, traditional and modern styles meet with playful penny round “polka dot” tile, a freestanding tub beneath a picture window, and spacious glass shower. Champagne bronze fixtures, brushed nickel hardware, and beaded mirrors add layers of elegance, creating a space that feels timeless yet fresh.

In-Law Suite & Secondary Spaces
The in-law suite embraces organic inspiration with sage green tones and views of the magnolia tree outside. A matching sage vanity and penny round tile add character to the ensuite bath. The laundry room delights with playful pink floral tile and coordinating pink walls, while a secondary bath showcases intricate penny tile borders and round “bubble” fixtures that echo the home’s design language.

Third Floor Retreat
The finished attic offers built-ins, a bench, and flexible space for a playroom, game room, or bonus lounge.

This remodel thoughtfully combines traditional charm with modern functionality, giving the homeowners a refreshed, stylish, and highly livable home in the heart of Southern Village.
