At BOLD Construction, we believe leadership is about more than delivering projects. It’s about guiding people through the inevitable challenges that come with building something extraordinary.

I recently attended the fourth installment of the Leaders Roundtable with Bell Leadership, where the focus was on Leading Change. The session was a powerful reminder that change is not a simple switch to flip—it’s a journey. And human nature often makes us resistant to it.

In construction, change is not optional; it’s part of daily life. From unexpected site conditions and shifting client goals to new technologies and supply chain adjustments, our teams face it every day.

The biggest lesson I walked away with is this: leaders cannot simply manage change. We must lead it. That means creating trust and clarity across every relationship:

  • Our Internal Team – Helping our crew understand the why behind a new process or tool, and providing the training and support they need to adapt with confidence.

  • Our Trade Partners – Bringing subcontractors into the conversation so they can align their work and feel like a valued part of the solution.

  • Our Clients – Communicating proactively about project shifts, turning a potential frustration into an opportunity for collaboration and shared success.

Effective change leadership isn’t about having all the answers. It’s about building a resilient team that can navigate challenges together and grow stronger because of them.

I’m grateful for the insights from Bell Leadership and for the chance to continue developing as a leader alongside others who are committed to growth.
